Chocolate with a story

We want to create chocolate bars with a story, to tell the tale of a location by taste experience. The handcrafted bars are made with high quality, organic and fair traded chocolate, specifically chosen for their flavour reflecting the feeling of various landmarks. Visual and tactile sensations are enhanced by the bar’s unique design with a sculptural map. The familiar contours provide a historical narrative while intensifying the refined flavour of the locally produced chocolate.

Our love for chocolate and our playfulness started the journey, and we'll continue exploring cities and cultural symbols to find hidden tales and taste experiences that can be captured in the simple luxury of chocolate.

 

 

Gamla Stan, Stockholm

Our tale started with Gamla Stan, the iconic centre of our home town Stockholm. The atmosphere of the Old Town could be described as historic, rustic and inviting, with its narrow, cobblestoned alleys that are always crowded and full of energy.

But how can the feeling of a location be translated into a tasting experience?

 

 

The flavour of Stockholm

Through workshops with people of various backgrounds, each with their own memories and definitions of Gamla Stan, we set about designing a tasting experience that defined the core character of Stockholm’s Old Town. During our tastings, we discussed how a location is related to flavours, textures, scents, and sights, as well as a rich spectrum of social, cultural and aesthetic influences.

The chocolate we settled on is 85% dark chocolate with a moody and intricate taste reminiscent of the antiquated streets of the old town. Its lavish, complex character has a dark roasted start and fruity, mischievous finish that instantly reflects both the city’s heritage and its new energy. 

 

Now the Stockholm collection has expanded with Södermalm and Djurgården, each bar with their unique taste reflecting the essence of the district. 

 

 

Malmö Chokladfabrik

Tales Chocolate is handmade in Sweden at Malmö Chocokladfabrik, ensuring a high quality throughout the entire process. The factory is 100% free of nuts, almonds, peanuts, gluten, soya and egg, creating chocolate that´s safe for everyone to enjoy.
